Cohen-Riesenfeld Young Investigator Award 2026

Justin Solomon, 2026 Cohen-Riesenfeld Young Investigator Award Recipient

Justin Solomon

Justin Solomon is an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Associate Dean of Engineering Education at MIT. He leads the Geometric Data Processing Group in MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), which studies problems at the intersection of geometry, large-scale optimization, and applications. Prof. Solomon’s team works across a broad variety of applications of geometry, spanning from low-dimensional problems in computer graphics and vision to high-dimensional problems in statistics and machine learning. For example, they pushed the forefront of computational optimal transport on both triangle meshes and high-dimensional point clouds, and they pioneered machine learning architectures for point cloud and mesh data.
